All Church Gathering
October 24 10:00 am
The hope for house churches is that we would be disciples of Jesus who experience life transformation together, united as a beautifully diverse spiritual family, committed to teaching others to do the same.
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
House Churches are gathering spaces to worship God, be challenged by scripture, share testimony of God moments from the week, and fuel us to go back into our spaces to love our neighbors, friends, co-workers, family, etc.
In the Book of Acts, we see the first century church gather in homes to mobilize believers to spread the Gospel to groups of people who had not yet encountered the Good News. The mobilizing of local missionaries created a movement that brought together ethnicities, affinities, and status. Our world isn't the same as it was all those centuries ago, but we can still be equipped and empowered to bring good news in our city. We believe that House Church gatherings and mobilizing local missionaries, through intentional disciple making relationships, will bring us close to God, to ourselves, to our neighbors, and to the world.
¡Nos encanta Washington Heights!
We love Washington Heights! It is rich in culture and history and we care deeply about partnering with neighbors and organizations to preserve our barrio. Let's partner together! Come share a meal, play sports with us, or serve our city together. We are for our barrio, and we are for you.
Sierra & Pete Vasquez
Pete and Sierra have called Washington Heights home since 2016, immersing themselves in the richness of the barrio. Sierra grew up Jewish and Pete is a first-generation Hispanic American. Together they reflect the two dominant people groups in the Heights. “As a family, we are committed to pursuing unity in our diversity, to celebrate what makes us unique, and to model Jesus in every aspect of our lives.”
Having completed a three-year Ministry Residency with Liberty Church through Tim Keller’s City to City Organization, Pete and Sierra are eager to see revival in the Heights and NYC as they pursue their calling to equip and empower disciple-makers.
“The hope for house churches here in Washington Heights is that we would be disciples of Jesus who experience life transformation together, united as a beautifully diverse spiritual family, committed to teaching others to do the same.”
Paul & Andi Andrew
In the summer of 2010, Paul and Andi Andrew moved to New York City from Sydney, Australia to pioneer Liberty Church. The first gatherings were around a picnic table in Central Park as they studied the birth of the church in the book of Acts, and prayed over our vision to influence a city that influences the world.
